Conference Office

The Conference Office will be open for registration, accommodation and information on Sunday, June 10 from 13:30 – 18:30 h.

During the conference the Office hours will be from 8:30 to 17:00 h.



From Vaclav Havel Airport

It is recommended to take taxi for convenience. There is a special taxi fleet serving the airport and the price is, approximately, 400 CZK (15 EUR).

The is no direct public transportation service from the airport to Hotel International. The hotel is served by buses No. 107, 116, 147, and 160 (stop Cinska) departing from stop Dejvicka. From the airport take bus No. 119 to Metro A station Nádraží Veleslavín (about 17 minutes journey), change for line A (Metro - green) to Dejvicka and then take bus. Ticket price is 32 CZK if bought in ticket machines or newspaper stands, or 40 CZK if bought from driver. and is valid for 90 minutes in all Prague transportation means


Arriving by an international train to either Prague-Holesovice or Prague-Main Station, take metro line C to Museum, and change for line A to staion Dejvicka. From Dejvicka take bus to stop Cinska.


International bus routes terminate in the Central Bus Depo Prague – Florenc, served by metro line C. Go to station Museum; see arrival by train.


Hotel International provides guarded parking for its guests directly in the spacious hotel yard.


General information


In the middle of June, mild summer temperatures can be expected in the range from20 to 25 Centigrades; however, cool weather and occasional showers are possible, as well as hotter weather.


Helmut Knapp Poster Award

The Helmut Knapp poster award (diploma and 500 EUR) is dedicated to the founder of the ESAT conferences (1923-2009). It will be awarded to the best poster presentation by a young researcher at ESAT2018.

Eligible candidates for the award are PhD students enrolled in a PhD program or junior researchers provided that they obtained the PhD degree not later than September 30, 2017.

Only one candidate per research group is allowed. The candidate must apply for it by sending an email to the conference chair at  CV and a recommendation letter from the supervisor must accompany the application for the award.

It is taken for granted that the applicant will attend the conference. The winner will be announced at the conference.

Deadline for application is June 8, 2018.
